Today is the last day to order spring pictures. Proofs were sent home last Monday. You can order online or bring your money to school.

We have updated our end of the year events schedule to allow parents to attend Honors Day in person. All parents attending will need to wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines. We also plan to stream the event on Facebook Live. We have missed you guys!

BCES artists have been learning about Earth Day and ways they can help protect the Earth. Students created a monotype. A monotype is a unique one of a kind image printed from a painted design. #HappyEarthDay

Upcoming events at BCES.

BCES will be sending cinch sacs home with your child on April 23rd. The bag will contain grade level resources to help your child prepare for the GMAS, practice math and reading skills, and provides parents with a list of things they can do to help their child succeed in school. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Gebhart at 626-5033 or on Class DOJO. E-learners: Your child can come to the office on April 23rd to receive their cinch sac of educational resources. If your child came in and took Spring Pictures, you can pick up your child’s proof on April 23rd as well.

Spring picture proofs will be sent home today with your child. Orders are due by April 27th. E-learners can pick up their picture proofs on Friday April 23rd from 8:00 - 4:00.

Artists focused on line variety for this art project as they created patterns. Check out their Insta Bunnies. They are ready for their close up on Instagram.

Second and third grade artists are learning about the history of weaving. Students used a fish shaped paper loom to complete their project.

Spring pictures will take place during the school day this Wednesday 3/24/21. There will be a separate time just for our E-learners to have their photos taken. E-learner photos will take place from 11:00-12:00. E-learning parents can park near the gym and their children can walk up the breezeway into the gym for a quick photo. Proofs will be sent home with students a few weeks later for parents to decide if they would like to purchase spring portraits.

Progress Reports (report cards) were sent home today with BCES students. Tomorrow is a student/staff holiday. Have a safe weekend.

Based on information received at a 6PM briefing, Bryan County Schools has revised its earlier protocol and BCES students will now dismiss at 11:25 on Thursday, March 18th. Students will eat lunch prior to leaving school. The After School Program will not operate tomorrow. Please send a note with your child tomorrow describing how they should go home If your child normally goes to the After School Program.

The After School Program will not be offered tomorrow due to impending weather. Please send a note with your child tomorrow to let BCES know how to send your child home. We will dismiss students at 1:50 (1 hour early) tomorrow due to the weather. Friday is a student and staff holiday.

The Annual Miss BCHS Pageant will be hosted at Bryan County Middle School on April 2nd for BCHS and BCMS Contestants, and April 3rd for BCES and LPS contestants. To register a contestant, log onto My Payments Plus (www.mypaymentsplus.com) and look for "Miss BCHS Pageant" listed under Bryan County MIDDLE School.

Second and third grade artists created artwork inspired by author and artist Faith Ringgold. “Anyone can fly. All you need is somewhere to go that you can’t get to any other way. The next thing you know, you’re flying among the stars.” #FaithRinggold

BCES artists learned about the Chinese zodiac and identified 2021 as the year of the ox. Students focused on creating bold contour lines and used water color paints to complete their artwork.

Second and third grade artists are learning about Pop artist Wayne Thiebaud. Check out their artwork inspired by his cupcake paintings. Students focused on repetition and variety when creating their composition. #waynethiebaud
