Transportation Guidelines

Richmond Hill Elementary School and Carver Elementary School utilize the same car line, procedures, and traffic pattern.

Car Riders

Morning Drop Off

Car line is located at the back of the school and begins at 8:25am.  If you arrive after 8:55am, please bring your child to the front office to sign in.

Afternoon Pick Up

  • Car riders have an assigned number printed on a Transportation Tag. Parents must have a tag for each student displayed on the dashboard for pick-up in the afternoons.

  • If, for any reason, the tag is not displayed during afternoon pick-up, the driver will be required to check the child out in the front office and present a picture ID.

  • Follow the established traffic patterns.

  • Refrain from cell phone use while in the car line.

  • We use the entire sidewalk to unload and load students. Please be prepared to pull-up as far as possible. Staff members will be waiting to receive your child.

  • Students should enter and exit vehicles on the passenger side only.

  • Vehicles must be stopped and in park before students will be permitted to step out toward the vehicle.

  • Vehicles should not pass others at any point—even if your vehicle has completely unloaded or loaded.

  • If you need to enter the building, please use the main entrance at the front of the school.

Walkers

Students who are walkers must live in the Main Street subdivision.  A walker permission form must be on file.

If there is inclement weather, please use the car line for pick up.

Second Grade

2nd grade students are not allowed to walk independently.

2nd grade walkers must be accompanied by an adult or responsible sibling.

If the student walks with an older sibling and the sibling is absent or not walking home at the regular time, the younger sibling must go home another way.

Third Grade

3rd grade students may be independent walkers.

Due to safety concerns and to keep traffic flowing efficiently, please do not park and walk up to get your child.

Bus Riders

Riding the bus ensures safe and secure arrival and dismissal for students each day. We encourage all students to ride the bus in an effort to ease congestion and traffic. Bus routes are established by the South Bryan Transportation Office. Information about bus routes can be found on the Bryan County Schools website.
