Public Hearing

Pursuant to Georgia House Bill 65, a public hearing will be held for the purpose of soliciting input on the proposed FY 2022 Budget of the Bryan County Board of Education. 

\r\n

The Bryan County Board of Education has tentatively adopted a 2021 millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 2.52 percent.  This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 15.075 mills, an increase of .370 mills.  Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 14.705 mills.  The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $200,000 is approximately $28.86 and the proposed tax increase for a non-homesteaded property with a fair market value of $175,000 is approximately $25.90.

All concerned citizens are invited to public hearings on the proposed FY 2022 Budget and this tax increase to be held at the following locations:

Frances Meeks Elementary School (488 Warren Hill Road, Richmond Hill, GA) on June 17, 2021 at 6:00 PM.

\r\n

Bryan County School District Central Office (8810 US Highway 280 East, Black Creek, GA) on June 24, 2021 at 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
