Dear BCHS Seniors – \r\n

\r\n

We will be doing a Senior Honors Night program on May 12th at 6pm – it is going to look a little (well, a lot!) different than what we have done in the past, but no less special!\r\n

\r\n

First – this Google Form (link) I am attaching needs to be completed NO LATER THAN TUESDAY, 4/28/20!\r\n

\r\n

I am attaching a Google Form link that I need EVERY SENIOR to complete. It has some basic questions such as your plans after graduation. Ms. Shadrick and I will be using this information to send your final transcript to you next destination! Please complete it as thoroughly as possible – I do not want to miss anyone’s accomplishments for Senior Honors Night!\r\n

\r\n

I will be announcing students that are HOPE and Zell Miller scholarship eligible as part of Senior Honors Night. I will base this eligibility on your current HOPE GPA which comes from your grades through 7th Semester (at the end of 1st semester of Senior Year).  There are some of you that are not currently eligible, but may be after final grades are calculated – unfortunately I cannot include you in this recognition because you have not yet earned it, however you need to continue to strive for this through your last “day” of classes.  On the other hand, there are those who are currently eligible, but may lose this after final Senior grades are stored and submitted to GSFC. PLEASE be mindful that your core classes figure into this (English, Science, Math, Social Studies and Foreign Language). In other words – be serious in all your classes through the end. Take it from this mom – that HOPE Scholarship makes a HUGE difference!\r\n

\r\n

ALL students in Georgia are eligible for the HOPE Grant (for tech schools), therefore this is not something we are going to announce.\r\n

\r\n

Ms. Blankenship will be getting with you soon to discuss Honor Grads, how to pick up your awards (cords, medals, etc.…), and how to return your Chromebook. That last one is a biggie – Seniors will not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony if this is not turned in when directed.\r\n

\r\n

You can request through GaFutures that your final transcript be sent to the college(s)/tech school(s) of your choice, BUT PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS BEFORE 5/16/20 – otherwise your CURRENT transcript will be sent. This is ALWAYS free through GaFutures. We will also mail your transcript in late May and all transcripts will be uploaded to Georgia Student Finance (Hope/Zell people) by the beginning of June. From there your final HOPE GPA will be calculated and sent to the college. Be patient – this may take a while before GSFC updates your GPA on your GaFutures account. My deadline to upload to GSFC is 6/30/20 (which I will have done WAY sooner than that), but GSFC may not update until July.\r\n

\r\n

Again – please complete the Google Form ASAP – it’s due to me no later than Tuesday, 4/28/20! Do not hesitate to email me with any questions.\r\n

\r\n

Miss you tons!\r\n
